Experience
I started my career in chilly Minnesota, where I worked teaching social studies at a local high school. The icy weather finally drove me to find a job in Arizona, where I moved last year. I can now spend quality time with my family and enjoy the warm Arizona weather! My current short-term goal is finding an interesting doctoral program, and in my spare time I enjoy indulging in one of my other passions - coaching soccer. I also enjoy playing the piano and guitar, gardening, and reading books on history. My long term goal is to continue studying education, and hopefully teach education or history as a professor. I have extensive experience teaching in classrooms, and I've found that I have a natural talent and aptitude for assessing the needs of a student and addressing those needs accordingly. Every child and learner has a different style and unique way of processing new information, and I believe that as a teacher and tutor, it is my responsibility to adapt my way of teaching to fit each learner. My individualized way of teaching creates a fun and safe environment for the learner, helping them to feel more excited and enthusiastic about a difficult subject.
