I think education and practical experience are equally important. Not only do I have several years of teaching and tutoring experience, but I also have been published. I have taught mostly writing classes at institutions such as the University of North Dakota (my Alma mater), National American University, and Embry-Riddle. Working with students individually in tutoring sessions allows me to help them master essay editing and English grammar and mechanics. I can also help students prepare for the AP English Language and Composition exam. In addition to tutoring students in all aspects of English, I can tutor other subjects like history, social studies, and geography.I have written six books and have had numerous shorter works such as essays, poems, photographs, and articles published nationally in a variety of media including newspapers, magazines, and television. I created PR materials for several non-profit agencies in the Dakotas.My educational philosophy is very simple. When I first meet with my students, I assess their strengths and weaknesses. As we work together, I help the students grow and achieve more than they thought they were capable of.Enjoy spending time outdoors with my family.
